John Waters

John is a teacher and counsellor offering individual and group sessions to those who want to awaken to their true nature as the silent Presence.

He does this by introducing awareness techniques that help to quieten the mind and manage the ego. In sessions John offers insights about the awakening process and how it functions in your life.

Background

In his late teens John commenced a lifelong practice of classical yoga and lived in a spiritual community. After training as a psychotherapist in the early 90's, he worked as a psychologist and counsellor in the tertiary education field at Monash University & later the Cairnmillar Institute.

This work included psychological counselling, clinical supervision, lecturing, coaching, critical incident stress management and mediation.

In the University roles he also conducted meditation programs for staff and students.

While drawing deeply from mainstream psychological theory and clinical practice, especially psychodynamic psychology, his spiritual training has provided techniques for working with the superconscious & subconscious mind.

This unique training means John can support clients in the development of joy and meaning in their lives. His main focus is guiding people in awakening to their true identity as the silent Presence.

Please feel free to contact John if you would like to arrange an individual session or attend a group activity.
